Name: Times Like These
Mercer's Medical Centre, Mercer Street, Johnson Place, Dublin 2. Originally built as a hospital in 1734. Rebuilt in 1759 and expanded in the late nineteenth century, the hospital closed in 1983. It was renovated and extended in the 1990s, now serving as a health center. The building features two distinct facades and a clock tower. While original interiors are lost, the contrast between the eighteenth-century wing and the Victorian wing enriches the architectural character. The building incorporates elements of Art Deco style, prevalent during the early 1900s when it was constructed.Overall, the architectural styles present in the building can be described as a blend of Georgian, Victorian, and Art Deco influences.
