McSwiggan's
Tommy O’Gara’s pub in Stoneybatter, Dublin, began life in the 1860s as a traditional grocer and spirit merchant, nestled in a red-brick Victorian building. In 1968, it was bought by Bobby O’Reilly, who transformed it from a men-only snug into a more welcoming space called Bobby’s Lounge—one of the first local pubs to introduce microwave meals. Eventually renamed after his son, Tommy, the pub became a beloved local haunt known for its down-to-earth charm, strong GAA ties, and community spirit. Today, it stands as a proud, unpretentious relic of old Dublin in the heart of a rapidly changing Stoneybatter
